Every piece of equipment follows these basic steps for installation:
1 - Locate the Csafe port
This is usually located in the console or on the base of the equipment. It is a standard RJ-45 jack.
Some equipment will have 2 ports, one that supplies power and one that supplies power and data. The Relay will always use the data and power port (Sometimes just labeled "Csafe" and "Power").
2 - Plug Relay into Csafe Port
Using the supplied patch cable, plug the Relay into the appropriate Csafe port.
3 - Attach Relay to the Equipment
Peel of the adhesive guard off of the dual lock and attach the Relay onto the equipment. Ensure that there is minimal strain on the cable and that (if required) the console is still able to close properly.
4 - Place Relay Sticker Provided on Equipment
Each Relay will come with a rectangular equipment sticker. This sticker contains the same information found on the Relay. This sticker should be placed where it can be easily read but out of the view of members. A good location is usually on the back of the console or the base.
5 - Button Up the Equipment
Close the console and refasten if required. Replace any latches or bumpers on the equipment.
Model specific mounting information can be found on the Model Catalog.
If model does not contain an article in the Model Catalog, the installer must identify the mounting location of the Relay.
When selecting an install location, consider the following:
Ensure that the Relay is not contained within metal such as equipment masts. This can cause signal loss.
Install the Relay somewhere safe where is will not get knocked off by cleaners or members and stay out of sight.
