A Gateway update is required any time a sensor is added or edited.
Are you adding (or editing) more than one sensor to the Gateway? You do not need to update for each sensor. You can register/add all desired sensors and update at the end. The process will update all pending changes.
What is the update doing?
The Gateway has a local configuration file. This file contains the registration information for each Sensor on your network. When the app edits or adds a piece of equipment to the Gateway it updates the configuration on the Ecofit cloud.
When the Gateway configuration file is older than the cloud version it will be flagged as "Update Required".
The update process updates this configuration file to the most recent version.
How to update the Gateway:
1 - Access the Gateway that requires the update.
2 - Open the Gateway menu and select the "Update" button.
3 - Update will take about 2 minutes. During this time the Gateway will power cycle automatically.
Success: The Gateway has been updated successfully.
Failure: It is possible that the update process was delayed and took longer than the 2 minute window. Wait for about 1 minute and pull down on the equipment list to update the Gateway status.
Gateway continues to show as "offline":
Manually power cycle the Gateway by disconnecting the power. After 2-3 minutes refresh the Gateway page on the app by pulling down on the equipment list.
If the Gateway still shows as offline, contact Ecofit Support.
