How To Edit An Asset

Any user assigned to a filter with the "Allow Editing Equipment" permission filter is able to edit equipment. 

IMPORTANT:

Editing the Data Ready Model will impact the data shown in the reports. Edit this field with care.

To edit the contextual information for an asset, simply select the entry you wish to edit on Location Asset Table.

Locked Fields:

Some fields cannot be edited, these include any system level field like sensor reference code or connection.

Contextual fields may also be locked if they are associated to a "Data Ready Model".

What is a Data Ready Model?

This represents the model information that is used for any analytical reporting. All assets that have a data connection (ie. API or Tracker) will have an associated Data Ready Model.

When a Data Ready Model is assigned, the user cannot edit the Type, Brand, Model, Category or Subtype fields as they are locked to maintain analytic accuracy across the system.

The data ready model is typically set at time of install and rarely needs to be modified.
